3D Models Glitch

Hi @Lukas

I sent you an e-mail complaining about a bug on FWsim. When I try to import Disneyland Paris castles models, FWsim is messing with its colors and there is one model that is making FWsim crash. I’ll put the links of the models I’m using so you can check it out. I use FWsim Creative Edition on the most recent version. I would be very happy if you could help me! Thanks a lot!

FWsim is messing the colors of these 2 models:

Model 1: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/uae5d9519-63c0-4924-97e9-bc06e6fd8cb2/Sleeping-Beauty-Castle-Disneyland-Paris

Model 2: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/d2000e22b29e0ce721f5c808a5d46371/Sleeping-Beauty-Castle-Disneyland-Paris-II

FWsim is crashing when I try to import this one:

Hi,

thanks for reporting!

Unfortunately, this is a problem that cannot be fixed in the near future due to problems with a third-party software library.

However, there is a workaround: Using the SketchUp software, you can open and re-export the model - and then everything works fine. Please try the following:

  1. Install SketchUp from https://sketchup.com/ (There is a free 30-day demo version)
  2. Start SketchUp and sign in to start your 30-day demo version
  3. Open 3D Warehouse, click “Download” and select the “Sketchup (2021)” file.
  4. Go back to SketchUp and open the downloaded file.
  5. Click File -> Export -> 3D Model
  6. Save your model as a Collada file (the file ending is .dae).
  7. In the FWsim World Editor, click “Import” and select that .dae file.

This workout fixes the issues with all three models.

Best Regards,
Lukas
