It doesn't save my effects

good morning, this morning I’m having some problems, I think it has some effects but it doesn’t save me @Lukas

I create the effect, click on save, then when I go to look for it in my effects I can’t find it

yes, it saves them in the folder, but they don’t fit in the effects on fwsim

Ok great, so the file is correctly saved in the folder, but it doesn’t show up.

Please try this next:

  • Close FWsim
  • Then restart FWsim
  • Then close it again
  • in Windows explorer, find the file Documents > FW-Sim > effect_load_errors
  • Please send me that file

In this file, FWsim writes information about which effects it finds. that way, I can find out why your new effect is not showing.

there is no folder with the name effect_load_error, help does not save the effects, in the documents it is @Lukas

Hiya Lukas,

I am running into this problem too. After an effect is saved it does show within the effect folder however it seems that the software doesn’t load the file. All of my earlier effects that I made before updating to 4.3 are fine and show up as expected. I have attached a .ZIP file with 2 screenshots showing the missing effect. The effect_load_error file is also included, this file seems to not have updated tho so I don’t know if it’ll be of any help. I am having the same problem:

I click on Insert, then Create New, and select Peony. I save the effect with the name “newPeony”. The file saves successfully, but when I close the editor and try to search for the effect, it cannot be found.

Looking through the folders, I noticed the file is being saved in: Documents > FW-Sim > Vecchi > newPeony.fwe

I even tried manually copying the newPeony.fwe file into: C:\Program Files (x86)\FWsim\Standard Effects\Demo Show 2026 Effects

However, after restarting the program and searching again, the file still doesn’t show up. I checked, and there is no effect_load_errors file present.

Thanks everyone. We have found a possible solution, and will be contacting everyone privately to verify that the solution works. Afterwards, we will publish an update that fixes the issue for everyone.
