Moving FwSim to another Disk

Is it safe to move Fwsim from Disk C to another one? My pcs C is full.

Hi @PyrotechArt ,

in order to move the installed program, please do this:

  1. Uninstall it from the Control Panel
  2. Download and install again - and during that installation, select another drive as the install location.

This is the safe way to move FWsim somewhere else.

Please note, your settings and effects will still be stored in your Windows “Documents” folder, in a sub-folder called “FW-Sim”.

That depends:

  • If you use FWsim Pro, you have the option to pick a different folder where to store your effects in the preferences.
  • Otherwise, the best solution would be to move your entire Documents folder on Windows. I think there is a Windows feature allowing you to move the documents folder - you’d have to search online to find instructions. Please note: I cannot guarantee if this Windows feature works correctly - use it at your own risk.
