So I was trying to follow some directions on line to rename shells but I am lost.
Most of my display shells I use unless specific are generic. So when I go to load the show, using lets say cobra. module 3 cue 10, it gives a fancy name but all I need for that is 3" shell.
So two parts I am guessing that I should design my own genic 3 - 4 and so on shells.
Part 2 is there a way I can rename the shells I already have in a show? That’s the part I’m really stuck on.
if you want generic shells only, you could use the built-in FWsim effects library. When you filter by author name “FWsim Collection”, you will find those generic effects.
Of course you can also design your own generic shells.
If you want to take a built-in effect and re-name it: In order to do that, simply open it in the effects editor. FWsim will ask you if you want to create a copy - select “Yes”. Then, when you save it, FWsim will prompt you for the name, and it will be saved under a new name.
If you want to take one of your own effects and rename it: In the effect selection window, right-click it and select “Rename”.
When you rename an effect, you then need to link the cues in your show to the new effect. To do that, select those cues and hit the F2 key.
