now it is a subscription its not paid once anymore what happened
We recently launched a new Hobbyist Edition — it includes all 7,243 effects from Pro and several professional show design tools, starting at €19/month. Creative Edition is no longer available for new purchases, but existing owners keep their license - and they continue receiving software updates as usual.

sorry i thought now i have to pay more its ok
I actually kept my Creative Edition license for years now
Hi @Lukas
I’m still using the Creative Edition. When I check the new hobbyist edition I see that one of the features is “Advanced Effect Editor”, described as “choose between 1199 included components or create your own”. Does it include some components that were not present in the Creative edition ?
I actually have a specific request behind that question : when creating a mine or a comet, for each star I can currently add some effects : crossette, crackling or tail (and it includes a lot of pre-configured effects). However I would like to be able to add an explosion (like a small salute effect). Is it possible with the hobbyist edition or is it something that could be added on a wishlist ?
At the moment, Hobbyist Edition includes the same components as the discontinued Creative Edition (but many more effects).
In some of the next updates, we will probably new components that will only be available in FWsim Hobbyist & Pro.
This is currently not possible. I’ll add it to our wishlist!
Sidenote: You could use Crackling and adjust the parameters until you get something like this. There just won’t be an explosion sound.
I too currently still have/use creative edition. I’m tempted to try out hobbyist edition for a year. In doing so, once the year is up, I should be able to revert back to creative with my custom effects still saved and without affecting my creative edition license?
Hi @Joepyro ,
I have updated our website to specify in more detail which show files and effects are compatible between editions. Does this answer your question? If anything is unclear, just let me know.
